Safety
Safety Is Our Standard — Not an Afterthought
At Pacific State Construction & Electric, safety is the foundation of every telecom and utility project we perform. Working on live networks, energized systems, rooftops, and active construction sites requires more than basic compliance — it demands discipline, training, and accountability at every level.
Our safety program is purpose-built for telecommunications and utility infrastructure, where uptime, public safety, and worker protection are critical.
Telecom & Utility–Focused Safety Culture:We understand the unique risks associated with telecom and utility environments, including:
-
Live electrical systems -
RF exposure and controlled work zones -
Rooftop and elevated work -
Crane and rigging operations -
Confined spaces and limited-access sites -
Working around active networks and occupied facilities
Safety is fully integrated into our planning, training, and execution — never treated as a checkbox.
Training & Qualifications
All field personnel receive role-specific safety training aligned with telecom and utility industry standards. Our training program addresses the hazards of live sites, elevated work, and mission-critical infrastructure.
Training includes, but is not limited to:
-
OSHA 10 / OSHA 30 -
NWSA (National Wireless Safety Alliance) Certifications -
Fall Protection & Elevated Work Safety -
RF Awareness & Hazard Recognition -
Lockout / Tagout (LOTO) -
Electrical Safety & Arc Flash Awareness -
Aerial Lift & MEWP Training -
PPE Selection & Proper Use -
Site-Specific Safety Orientations
Training is refreshed regularly and reinforced through field supervision, daily tailgate meetings, and ongoing compliance reviews to ensure best practices are consistently applied.
Pre-Task Planning & Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)
Before work begins, our teams complete thorough pre-task planning to identify and control site-specific hazards.
This process includes:
-
Job Hazard Analysis (JHA/JSA) -
Review of site conditions and access -
Identification of live systems and exclusion zones -
Coordination with carriers, general contractors, and property owners -
Verification of permits and safety requirements
Work does not begin until hazards are understood and controls are in place.
Safety Leadership & Accountability
How we lead, enforce, and commit to safety on every project.
On-Site Safety Leadership
Safety accountability starts with leadership and extends to every crew member.
-
Dedicated field supervision on active sites -
Daily tailgate safety meetings -
Stop-work authority for all employees -
Continuous monitoring of site conditions and changes
Every employee is empowered — and expected — to speak up if something is unsafe.
Compliance & Documentation
We maintain full compliance with applicable safety standards and project requirements, including:
-
OSHA & Cal/OSHA regulations -
Carrier and utility safety standards -
GC and site-specific safety plans -
Incident reporting and corrective action tracking -
Training records and certifications
Safety documentation is maintained for all active projects and is available upon request.
